Joseph Lefort was born in England in October 1862; Julia Rodden was born in Donegal, Ireland, in September 1865 and died on 6 January 1922. The couple lived in Annapolis, Maryland, from the early 1890s until sometime between 1900 and 1906. They had 5 children: George J. (May 1895), Mary Alice (21 August 1896), William A. (10 April 1898), Josephine (October 1899; died before 1910), and Regina A. (24 September 1901).
Joseph was employed as a gardener at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. He was killed on 8 March 1923 when he was stuck by a train near the Marshall Street Station in Norristown--he apparently slipped on ice and rolled beneath the train. The accident occurred at about 5:30 am. He had been night watchman at the Marshall Street crossing for several years.
